Our camps are outdoors and active! Expect a hike to the river, shade and sun, daily walks, and an all-around good time! Campers should bring a snack and lunch, dress in layers and plan for adventure!

Our camps are outdoors and active on the beautiful 127 acre Ya-Ka-Ama land with mixed forests, open meadows, spring-fed creeks, hiking trails and access to the Russian River.  We offer different themes each week centered around Nature and Science, Spanish, Cooking and Crafting.   Campers might take a hike to the river, explore the forest, go on daily walks, learn some Spanish, cook new foods or play games. Plan for adventure and an all-around good time!

Traditional Mexican Arts, Crafts & Cooking recommended for ages 6-10

Dive in with our beloved Spanish Teacher Lupe Dominguez! Campers will make arts and crafts using traditional, natural materials. Additionally, theyʻll learn to process and prepare traditional food from scratch. Time will also be spent exploring and adventuring in nature. Each week will bring a new set of projects, so campers are welcome to attend multiple weeks.

Beginning Fort or Shelter Building recommended for ages 6-10

Design and construct your own forest home using only the natural materials harvested around you. Campers will learn about types of shelters, develop skills related to ethical harvesting and constructing structures, and experience the joy and satisfaction of creating their own space! Students will spend their day outside amidst the forest building their own designs, playing games and hiking to the river.

Advanced Fort or Shelter Building recommended for ages 8-13

In Shelter Building 2, campers will develop skills to make more complex and permanent structures using hand tools. They will learn basic carpentry to join a frame and create simple furniture, such as a chair or small table. This is the camp for those wanting to solidify skills and learn how to create their own comfortable spaces at a new level.

Wildcrafting recommended for ages 6-10

Campers will work hands-on to craft several projects with the materials they find on the land. They'll have the chance to process clay to make a cup, create cordage from plant fibers, carve a walking stick, and develop skills to design and create a project on their own. This is the perfect opportunity to learn through doing and experience a broad range of skills and activities through the week.

Nature Skills recommended for ages 8-13

Learn how to read your environment, track animals, find water, forage food, and develop the foundational skills needed to survive off the land. Campers will learn to identify and avoid various hazards, such as ticks and poison oak. Theyʻll deepen their connection to nature through gratitude, tending, observation and ethical harvesting. This is the perfect camp for anyone who wants to get out on an adventure, explore and get to know the world more deeply.
